Sparta High School invites candidates to apply for the position of Varsity Football Head Coach for the 25-26 school year. Ideal candidates will have successful high school coaching experience–preferably at the varsity level–with a proven ability to teach football techniques and strategies to student-athletes at all levels of development. The ideal candidate will be a capable leader committed to the development of our players and program.  The Varsity Football Head Coach supports and provides assistance in the direction for the 7-12 football program under the direct supervision of the Athletic Director.

 

Responsibilities and Qualifications:

• Successful varsity level coaching experience preferred;
• Head coaching experience preferred;
• Knowledge of football strategies and techniques;
• Knowledge of relevant safety standards, training protocols and MHSAA regulations.
• Ability to work with other coaches and staff in a collaborative way;
• Well organized. Communicates effectively, both verbally and in writing with athletes, staff, parents and the community;
• Fosters a positive team culture promoting accountability, good sportsmanship and accountability.
• Off season work may be requested. 
• Must attend all scheduled games and practices.
